Space Is Completely Silent

No medium means no sound — but pressure waves do exist in interstellar gas clouds.

Sound requires a medium (like air or water) to travel through. In the vacuum of outer space, there is no medium, so sound waves cannot propagate. However, scientists have detected pressure waves in gas clouds between stars — a form of sound so low-pitched that humans could never hear it even if we were there.
