Octopuses Have Three Hearts

Two hearts pump blood to the gills, one pumps it to the body.

An octopus has three hearts: two branchial hearts pump blood through each of the two gills, while the third — the systemic heart — pumps it through the rest of the body. Interestingly, when an octopus swims, the systemic heart stops beating, which is why they prefer crawling over swimming.
